Who we are?
In the year before last, our operator team with Kuddel (DK5KA), Ulli(DL7UB) and Uwe (DL1UWE) have participated first time at the competition of  "International Lighthouse Lightship Weekend". We are members of German Amateur and Radio-Ham Club (DARC “Deutscher Amateur und Radio Club), coming from Leverkusen, that is close to the city of Cologne.
We are very glad to stay at the lighthouse of Kegnaes, which is so beautiful and is located at the eastern Baltic Sea coast of the Danish Island of Als. We stroke up friendship with Niels, who was the lighthouse keeper in former times. Many thanks to him who gives us so many support to build up out shack at the lighthouse.
What is our equipment?
Transceivers are: Yaesu FT950, FT897, FT857 and Kennwood TS590S. Antennas are: G5RV, W3DZZ, Verticals
We intend to setup three stations at the lighthouse and to work with SSB, CW and Digital Modes, mainly on 80m, 40m and 20 Meters. We hope to have QSO with a lot of other lighthouses and lightships, and with all other YLs and OMs as well.

What is the ILLW?
we would like to announce the International Lighthouse Lightship Weekend (Short ILLW), which event will be on 15th-16th August 2015. This world wide event is yearly activated and conducted under the sponsorship of the Ayr Amateur Radio Group, (AARG), Scotland. The basic objective of the event is to promote public awareness of lighthouses and lightships and their need for preservation and restoration, and at the same time to promote amateur radio and to foster International goodwill.
Lighthouses are fast becoming an endagered species with the introduction of Global Positioning Systems and Satellite Navigation and the automation of the light source to solar power which has resulted in the withdrawal of mangement personnel (Keepers). It is hoped that this event will highlight this situation and help prevent further desecration of these magnificent structures all around the world.
In order to support this world wide event, we as european Ham Radio Operators are going to setup temporarily a Radio Station at the lighthouse on the peninsula of Kegnæs (part of isle of Als, IOTA EU029) on that weekend
